The ROMA PASS will be available starting from this coming April 21st on the occasion of the celebrations for the Birth of Rome.

The three days pass will entitle its holders free entrance to the first two archaeological sites or museums chosen and will offer a discounted fee to all the other attractions of the city.
The Roma Pass will also include unlimited transportation on buses and undergrounds.It will be possible to purchase The Roma Pass in all museums and archaeological sites, tourist information desks and ATAC ticket offices, travel agencies, hotels, exhibition premises as well as online.

Beware of the "Cheap Museum Trick". During the peak tourist season, the museums of Rome have "special exhibits", presumably for tourists, for which they charge an additional 3-5 euro per person. This is in addition to the Roma Pass benefits. Furthermore, children are free to the museums only if they are from a European Union nation. If you are an American family, your children will be charged a full ticket price for admission to each museum.
I have just returned from Rome, and I intend to write the Mayor of Rome regarding this, but these are the facts as they impacted us.
